SOHAM MUSEUM 'LOCAL HEROES EXHIBITION' SUMMER 2026
This summer, Soham Museum was delighted to be invited back to Wicken Fete in June to show off some of our museum collection on the theme of Local Heroes. Visitor's were able to learn about some of the important nationally significant heroes that Soham has a direct connection with from Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni through to the local heroes of the Soham Rail Disaster of 1944. The exhibition proved to be extremely popular, with characters from medieval history such as Hereward the Wake and King Canute, inspiring children to try to build their own castle. In July we took the exhibition to St Andrew's Church, Soham, where we took pride of place as the central exhibit for their own 'Local Heroes' project. We would like to thank everyone who visited us and expressed an interest in what we do for our community.
